I etterkant av leieforholdet hos Hertz Vigra fikk jeg krav om å dekke skade på fremre felg høyre side på en Mazda med reg nr UF 93250. Jeg visste at jeg ikke hadde påført noen ny skade. Heldigvis hadde jeg tatt bilder, noe som førte til at de trakk saken. Husk å ta bilder før og etter at du leier bil! Kommer ALDRI til å leie bil hos Hertz igjen.

If I could leave a zero, I would. What a joke this location is.

First I was given an SUV with the loudest brakes that had to be pressed almost to the floor to stop. That was after the front desk told me that the car I reserved was blocked for repairs. After schlepping our luggage out of the car and back to the office, I was offered a slightly better car. I took a video and photos. On Saturday July 13, I returned the car at 10am and NO ONE was around. I like to return cars with an employee presence so that there's not some magical, fictitious claim after I leave that there is bogus damage to the car.

Too bad I didn't read some of these bad reviews ahead of time. The next day, I receive an email from Hertz that here's damage that wasn't there when I returned the car...a story very similar to the ones outlined in these reviews. You have no recourse, no ability to contest. I had insurance through the vendor I had used and it took well over 2 months to recoup the close to $600 these shady people took. I reported it to Hertz as well but you just get formulary responses, thanking me for reaching out.

Believe the reviews...this place is a SCAM.

All car park here. I came to return the car and bring the car key to Hertz counter in the airport (5 min.-walk. the airport is small you can find the counter easily).

Rented a Volvo XC60 got a Mazda CX60, certainly not on the same premium level. Only inspected the exterior before driving of, but at destination found front seat cover loose. Stuffed it back and never thought about it ever since. Upon arrival back home a pretty annoying rental turned into a horrible one as Hertz held me accountable for the seat damage. As if the whole Mazda experience wasn’t bad enough with continuously random lane departure warnings and other sorts, drivetrain refinement lacking with the automatic transmission, window washer fluid level warnings. There are many options available at Alesund. DO NOT RENT HERE!!!

AVOID AT ANY COST. ITS A FRAUD. The damage department get in touch with us one month later and claim some scratch on the car that we never saw in our inspection photos.

This location is a fraud!!!
I want to report a fraud scheme which I unfortunately got caught up in through a Priceline booking. Hertz are a scam. They falsely accused me of damaging the car and charged me 100% price over estimated rental. There was no incidents while I rented the vehicle. And I checked everything before returning it. They have the drop off location a little far away and there is no one there to inspect.

When I went in to the counter at the terminal to return the key, I specifically asked the two agents after checking me out if there would be any overage charges on my rental contract. They confirmed with a firm no. A day later I received an email with accusations that I had damaged the front driver side wheel and a few other things like insurance that I had not accepted when checking in.

I immediately called the Alesund airport location as soon as I got the email. There was no answer. I wrote to them immediately expressing my concern about the false charges. I got an email the next day which was a boiler plate text explaining that I was to blame for not having verified that there was no damages at the point of return.

I heard from other travelers that this Hertz location in Alesund did the same fraud on them. Since we are leaving the country and they have our credit card, they feel like they can get away with fleecing customers. I am not going to let this go.

Avoid this Hertz. Unresponsive customer service. I was charged for damage, but they sent me pictures from a car that I didn’t rent. They did not respond to my requests for clarification before sending this debt to a collections agency! After 4 months of back and forth they finally provided pictures of damage that already existed!

I provided them a date/time stamped photo of the damage. Admittedly, the photo was taken from a parking garage because it was pouring rain when we got the car and I didn’t want to get all soaking wet. They denied my proof because it wasn’t in their parking lot.

Regardless of the outcome, the 1 star is for terrible customer service. Ultimately I had to pay the collections agency the debt plus their fee. This should have been resolved directly through Hertz had they followed their own policies.
