Liked · More like a Bed and Breakfast feel than a hotel, most of the rooms were spread amongst various small buildings of the complex. Clean room with comfy beds, and a fair amount of space. Right on a fjord and surrounded by mountains in a very beautiful area. Really good breakfast with lots of choices. Friendly and helpful front desk. Hotel was very well placed right on the water and very close to Flam and all the attractions near without being close to the cruise port. Right at the start of the switchbacks on the way up to the Stegastein Viewpoint (do this!) Loved our stay here.|||Disliked · We did not find any fault with the hotel other than it was very expensive. We were not impressed with the hotel's attached restaurant. Although our meal was ok, we had much better meals elsewhere.

Ambiente tipico dei porti norvegesi, struttura dei primi del ottocento, camere leggermente datate ma caratteristiche. Servizio ottimo e personale cordiale e con il sorriso. Purtroppo la camera dava sul parcheggio di fronte per cui la privacy era bassa. Colazione ottima e abbondante su una casa, forse fatta appositamente per i turisti, prezzo leggermente alto per la camera assegnata.

Fantastic location spectacular view. These cottages are facing the fjords and offer an outstanding display superb scenery. The rooms are equipped with kitchenette and much more. The staff is courteous and very generous. There is a grocery store close to premises for basic items. This is definitely a great property to relax & get refreshed. The breakfast is a lavish array of cereals, breads, eggs & fruits and more served every morning freshly made. We had a great time & definitely plan to visit in future.

We stayed in a deluxe fisherman’s hut for three nights. The hut and balcony are literally on the fjord and the view was stunning - something I will remember for years to come. I do want to flag the negatives to other travellers though as this place is not good value for money. We paid over £300 a night in August 2025. To call the hut deluxe is misleading. The furniture is cheap and basic, small double bed, no shower mat, no toiletries, a coffee machine but no coffee. The breakfast was the most basic we’ve ever experienced in a hotel worldwide. The bread was fresh and lovely but everything else was not great. However, the women serving were lovely. The view at this place is worth a lot of money - if we’d paid £200 a night I’d be happy but £300+ a night is just not fair for accommodation and food this basic.

I wasn't quite sure what to expect as the village is very small and this place offers an assortment of rooms and cabins, which looked like they could be charming or funky. Turns out it was totally charming. Fjord view here means literally right on the fjord, as in we could have dropped a fishing line off our balcony, and the fjord is breathtaking. The room was very comfortable and decent amount of space. We took the "deluxe double room with balcony and sea view", which I believe is the only one of its category at the end of a row of several apartments suited more for families. Our room was perfect for a couple. The breakfast is served in a charming old cottage on the grounds with tables set up in various rooms, and a nice selection, including gluten-free options for my celiac husband. There's also a pub at the hotel which serves a quite decent dinner in a casual pub setting. (I had a reindeer stew special while my husband had a gluten-free pizza.) It's a great situation for drivers - plenty of parking - 10 minutes drive to the larger town of Flam and maybe 10-15 minute drive up the mountain to an amazing viewpoint (don't miss the Stegastein viewpoint!). They had a couple of slower EV chargers, first come first serve, or just 5 minutes away there was a large cluster of high-speed EV charging stations from several networks with lots of stations. If you don't have a car, this may be less ideal, but it was great for us.

Wir hatten ein großes Zimmer gebucht, das auch sehr schön war. Freundlicher Service, gutes Frühstück. Abends kann man nebenan etwas essen. Die Lage des Hotels ist schön am Fjord und entsprechend ruhig.

Situé au bord du Fjord à côté du port d’Aurland et d’un sauna sur pilotis. Les chambres sont certes très petites mais confortable et propres. A retenir les chambres situées au deuxième étage numérotées paire ont une vue imprenable sur le Fjord on dirait une carte postale. Le petit déjeuner assez correct pour un trois étoiles est servi dans une maison au décor pittoresque composée de plusieurs salles à manger donnant sur un joli jardin. Seul bémol de cet hôtel les petites chambres mais personnellement cela ne m’a pas dérangé. J’ai adoré tout le mobilier ancien qui donne un charme particulier à cet hôtel et vous fait remonter dans le temps !!!

Aardige ontvangst bij de receptie. De kamerprijs was deze dag onderhandelbaar bij een verblijf van 2 nachten. De kamer was niet al te groot, maar alles was er. Eigen badkamer, al was deze op de gang. De kamer was wat ongelukkig van vorm en zo ook de badkamer. Het was niet geweldig schoon, maar voldoende. Tussendoor werd er niet schoongemaakt, wat wij vreemd vonden daar dit niet was gecommuniceerd. Ook niet n.a.v. het ophangen van het groene kabel aan de deur; enkel schone handdoeken.
Het ontbijt was prima; goed opgezet en menig hotel kan een voorbeeld nemen aan de manier en snelheid waarmee er werd aangevuld.
De accommodatie had wel een mooie verzorgde tuin en lag dicht bij het water.
De Gastropub was zeker niet voor herhaling vatbaar en ook voor Noorse begrippen te duur. Hamburger zelf had weinig smaak maar men probeerde dit te maskeren door een te pittige saus. De portie frites was de helft van wat zou moeten. De fish and chips was ook flauw al werd ook hier geprobeerd dit te verhullen door een gekruide korst, wat het er juist niet lekkerder op maakte. De hoeveelheid frites was bij dit gerecht wel goed. Geen aanrader. Beter naar de entree van het dorp; de Sognoparken had hele goede pizza van echte Italianen!
